Wet electrostatic precipitator

Wet electrostatic precipitator is an electrostatic precipitator that uses water spray or overflow water to form a layer of water film on the surface of the dust collecting electrode to achieve plate cleaning. Wet cleaning can avoid the re-flying of the settled dust and achieve a high dust removal efficiency.

There are several structural forms of wet electrostatic precipitator. One is to use corrosion-resistant conductive materials (which can be non-metallic materials with excellent conductive properties or metal materials with corrosion resistance) as dust collectors. The other is to use water spray or overflow water to form a conductive water film and use non-conductive non-metallic materials as dust collectors.

Wet electrostatic precipitators can also be divided into cross-flow (horizontal) and vertical flow (vertical) types. The cross-flow type is mostly a plate-like structure, and the gas enters and exits in the horizontal direction. The structure is similar to the dry electrostatic precipitator. The vertical flow type is mostly a tubular structure, and the airflow direction is vertical in and out. Generally speaking, under the same ventilation cross-sectional area, the dust removal efficiency of the vertical flow wet electrostatic precipitator is twice that of the cross-flow type.

The dust accumulated on the plate can be washed away with water. Wet cleaning prevents the collected dust from flying again, and the dust removal efficiency is high. Since there is no vibration device, the operation is also more reliable. The device that forms a conductive film on the surface of the dust collector with water spray or overflow water will only cause corrosion, sludge and sewage treatment problems when the dust concentration in the gas is low. It is only used when higher dust collection efficiency is required. Wet electrostatic precipitators that use corrosion-resistant conductive materials as dust collecting electrodes do not require long-term water spray or overflow water. They are only flushed regularly according to the operation of the system, and only consume a very small amount of water. This part of the water can be recycled and reused, and there is basically no secondary pollution to the dust collection system.
